Sugar Maple Springs produces many animals, but we have a specialty in Boer Goats.
We have a great selection for you to choose from, or to help you start your own herd. These
goats are an excellent addition to any farm. Boers especially, because they do not have
problems browsing with any other livestock such as cattle or sheep. And livestock are not the
only thing Boer's can be in close proximity with, all of our goats have been involved with
humans (including children) since they were kids.

A Boer Goat is an easily managed breed, they are described as "browsers". The reason for
this is that they are usually not pen-raised, they reside in pastures where they eat brush,
shrubs, small trees, and all types of grass/weeds. The advantages of having a browsing goat rather than pen-raised is that less work and money has to be put into maintenance and care.
They are great for landscaping a rough field, or just for grooming or breeding purposes.
For any needs that you have a Boer Goat is a perfect choice they are a very versatile and adaptable breed of goats. Even though our goats call Southwest Virginia their home, they
handle many different climates very well.
